Who We Are..

Wags and Wisdom is a small family run in home business. Shane and Abby have worked together with pets and their families in the Gettysburg community for years. Now embarking on their own journey to continue to offer the same top tier training. Shane and Abby have 7 dogs of their own, who all play a part in the training we bring to everyone else. We have 6 German Shepherds and 1 Australian Cattle Dog. Each of our dogs assist at times in private training or board and training, whether being a neutral dog for distraction or for bringing an anxious puppy out of their shell to play, they host a vital role in ways that humans cannot!

Both of us train our own dogs in different types of activities like Agility, Nose Work, Trick Training, and Competitive Obedience. These skill sets have taught us an array of different training styles that help us teach every person and their dog new behaviors and better manners. While we are privy to the working breeds, we love all breeds and know that every dog is different in their needs and genetic traits. Having helped more than 100 dogs over the years, we have trained more breed types than we can count. From protective dobermans, howling hounds, feisty little guys and everything in-between— owners have gained confidence and knowledge through our programs to take back the “pack leader” role in their home. We believe that training your dog should be an enjoyable adventure for both of you! Whether you’re a new puppy parent eager to learn the ropes or you’re being pulled to the end of your leash and needing help, our training programs are designed to bring out the best in your best friend.
